After a week around Easter, when all county parks were closed, QHR was opened up on April 16th. Since then, the wildflowers have really been popping. If you are looking for a trail that is wide and where it’s easy to maintain separation, the 1 mile long Discovery Loop is a good choice. The Italian / Lower Chaparral loop is also good, and has more flowers. The Woodrat trail has the best wildflowers, but is so narrow that it can be nearly impossible to maintain a 6′ separation if you meet someone from the other direction. Lupines on the Lower Chaparral below. Trail map here.
