Every year, our neighbor across the street, Graniterock, sponsors an educational open house that benefits the park. 2020 is such a unique and unusual year, that for the sake of safety, there was no open house. But Graniterock donated $1,000 to the Friends of Quail Hollow Ranch. They’ve also started a GoFundMe to raise additional funds for the park during this difficult time. (See QR code below or in the PDF download below for an easy way to donate).

In place of the open house, on Thursday, October 15, Graniterock hosted an informative webinar with Jodi McGraw, Ecologist and Principal at Jodi McGraw Consulting, highlighting some of the rare species and conservation actions Graniterock is implementing in the area. Ben Snow, Graniterock Quarry Manager, also talked about the operational excellence that goes on at the quarry. And Rachel Reed, Graniterock Environmental Specialist, talked about reclamation and revegetation of native plant habitats. It was a great event and we received a substantial number of new contributions. Thanks to everyone who helped!
